About Bayvo Magazine
You are probably here because something about your child’s talking is on your mind. Before you take our word for anything, here is who we are and where our numbers come from.
Who edits this
Yu Asano — founder and editor of Baby Voice Recorder. A parent, not a clinician. Every article here is edited by one person, and that person’s name is on it.
We do not put a doctor’s name on articles a doctor did not write. If we ever add a clinical reviewer, we will say who they are and what they reviewed.
Why we publish this
We are building Baby Voice Recorder, a recorder that keeps the words a child actually says. Writing these guides is how we learn what parents are really worried about.
So yes, we sell something, and our articles link to it. No article is written to make the product look necessary. Most of what helps a slow-to-talk child is free and happens at your kitchen table.
Where the numbers come from
Every age range we print traces back to a named source, and each source is linked inside the article itself — not gathered into a bibliography nobody clicks.
- CDC — Learn the Signs. Act Early. The milestone checklists US pediatricians use at well-child visits.
- NIDCD (National Institutes of Health)The federal research body for speech and hearing.
- ASHA — American Speech-Language-Hearing AssociationThe professional body for speech-language pathologists.
- PubMedPeer-reviewed studies and reviews, linked one by one inside each article.
These guides disagree with each other, and we say so instead of printing the friendliest number. “50 words” lands at 18 to 23 months in one guide, 24 months in another, and 30 months on a third. A range that wide is the honest answer.
What this is not
Nothing here is medical advice. We cannot see or hear your child. If something feels off, you do not need our permission — or a missed milestone — to call your pediatrician.
Photographs
Photographs come from Pexels, and the photographer is credited under every image. They are stock photographs of other families, not children who use our product.
If we got something wrong
Tell us and we will fix it. Write to yuasano@babyvoicerecorder.com. When a change alters the meaning of an article, we update the date at the top of it.
